Been watching TVD the past few days; still stuck in early stages of season 1 though. I'd wanted to watch this back in 2010 I believe, and I remember even loading the first ep, but decided against it. Oh well, it's quite interesting and I trust that the plot will thicken since I've heard so rave reviews from friends.

DAMON'S EYES! Okay I tried googling, but those images can't seem to emphasize on his eyes. I guess gifs/videos would do the trick but lazy~ Anyway, his eyes were what attracted me to this show in the first place hahaha. I like Jeremy too :) Plus Michael Trevino's in the show! I remember highing over him when he was in 90210...

On a side note, I've been talking to my childhood friend, Keikei (his nickname) since last night and it's rather nice. He types in proper English (which is a definite plus!)! Then his sister (also a childhood friend) started chatting on msn with me just now; sharing about guy stuff that I think you'd only share with closer friends? Hmm, I don't know, maybe a "stranger's" perspective would be best and impartial.

Taking a break off work & Ojakgyo Brothers to watch Pokemon. It's back to 1998, I was 6 and crazy about that show on Kids' Central (?!). I CAN STILL REMEMBER THE FUCKING LYRICS TO THE SONG!!!

Haha all thanks to 9gag. Now my only wish is to just slack at home from now till August (if I get into a university) and watch all 273 episodes of the Misty-seasons. Ain't no way I'm watching May/Max, Dawn or the new kids~

Fresh start. This is what I'm going through now. After poly has ended, I've thought about trying new things:

Volunteering at Rainbow Centre. Hopefully the visit there next Tuesday will be a pleasant one :)
Driving lessons. It's something I wish to complete before university starts.
Applying for the various universities...
Sending in my resume for this robotics thingy that Aloysius Wong has introduced. He has yet to reply me about it though :|
Accepted a 2 hour/week tutoring job at Redhill.

As Barney says, "Challenge accepted!" Hahaha, I guess it's me trying to take the first step out of my comfort zone. I'd always be resistant to change (although I'm pretty flexible once change occurs). I believe that's why I've stayed at Pepper Lunch all these years.

Hopefully these will be challenges that I'd be glad to partake in. I actually can't wait for tutoring (since I get to interact with a child again) but at the same time I'm afraid. What if I screw the child's development by teaching him the wrong thing or using the wrong method in teaching. I strongly believe that as a teacher, one has to be prepared before going in for lessons, but I'm so lazy to do that :/ I feel so stressed thinking about it already. Who can understand my pain?

Was catching up on MBLAQ Hello Baby episodes, and the fourth one was so presh. I teared like don't know how many times watching Dayoung open up her feelings. I just feel really proud that I've been through ECH so I somewhat know how to manage children. The expert lady, I think she was a psychologist or something made me inspired to continue this line and learning more about children. Once again, I can never bear to stray from my dear children, and I do believe that that is my calling; to talk to the quieter kids, and get them to talk to me, sharing their feelings and whatnots.

Anyway, IMO I think Joon is the best appa since he genuinely wants to know and interact with all three children. Seungho focuses too much on Lauren, G.O is still unclear how to manage them, Thunder thinks that children are still young so he doesn't really know that they should be disciplined instead of being pampered all the time (I used to be like this) & Mir's just oblivious; he tries, but uses the wrong methods on the wrong child.

Watching this show just reignited my love for weekly attachments at my childcare centre. I really do miss all of them :( TRIXIA & CODY BBS!!! I trust that I would be a preschool teacher one day, perhaps 10 years later??

Goodbye my poly life!

Today was the last day of my poly life. Can't believe 3 years has passed by so quickly! :/

I missed my very last shuttle bus by just a few seconds. The bus just zoomed past me, and it was empty! But I guess God had a plan... for I met Jun Hao at Pending Station whilst waiting for 184! So it was a rather nice trip to school, catching up with him :)

Anyway, CDES & OB-HRM was spent.. alrightly. We just kept spamming photos all the way! :) After OB-HRM, a few of my classmates went in front to say a 'speech' about how they felt towards their 3 years, and it was :'( Walao, Abs started crying, so I cried too! I really am emotional hahaha. But it was really rather good to listen to all the back stories of everybody!

Through that experience, I'd actually became more aware of how blessed I am. Although secondary school was not very smooth sailing, it was stable and awesome. I didn't go through any setbacks then, and felt that poly would be a good change of environment, etc. I guess this was sort of the reason why I didn't go up to say anything. It's like most of them had this awe-inspiring story to tell, but I'm just... Hahaha.

After class though, my clique + Pei Qi, Faiza, Si Yi & Asyraf slide down the hill near Blk 50. It was damn epic! Craziest and best thing to do after we finish classes! :D

Then Lycia, Evania, Nad, Sixu, Nurul & I went to Teoheng @ Katong to sing, sing, sing! :):) (Unfortunately, Daniella wasn't free :/) (& ya la, I saw you too Huiqing, even though I think you were happier to see Daniella!) I think we were all super high or something; doing mad hand actions that follows the lyrics!

We headed to Parkway Parade while Nurul went home :( Just realized I didn't take solo pics with everyone in the clique! T_T We hung at Macs, and talked. Good that we shared and cleared things up with one another! Even though I started crying again!!! I really prefer things to be out in the air than kept in the heart!

People who cried: Abital, Alida, Evania, Nad, Sixu, Wingsze & I. Okay I think that's quite little. Why other people's tolerance so high!!!

Oh yes, I really want to apologize to everyone whom I might accidentally offend due to my thoughtless words? I might degrade you and call you dumb, stupid or what, but I really have no malicious intent behind it! I'm sorry for hurting your (whoever's) feelings! :( This is just how I converse, and is evidence that we are close, b/c I wouldn't call you names if we weren't! #sadbuttrue

It was nice talking to John last night too, hahaha.

It feels like the start of holidays now, and that I'd still have school after a few weeks! Guess the thought of graduation hasn't fully settled in yet!

Tomorrow = University applications, apply for PDL & K with Tow Wei & co.!

Ought to start planning what to do during this "holiday" already. School's going to end in about 4 days, and I can slack till about May (before I find out my results..).

Taking this opportunity to volunteer @ Rainbow Centre with Sixu (& Nad?), and see if I can manage children with special needs. It'd definitely be an interesting and enriching experience for me, and I do hope I'll get "selected"? Not sure if there's a selection process, but it'd be good for me.

I'll just continue to work in Pepper Lunch (for now), see if my mum requires relief teachers in her centre, and perhaps ask Aloysius Wong for any 'lobangs'? :)

I'd have to work my ass off for the next few months so that I can start learning my driving!

Anyone wants to go overseas with meee? :(

Will only apply for uni on Friday!!! :) Seriously hope I can at least get into NTU :(

5. I wish I had let myself be happier

#5 struck me the most: "Many did not realize that happiness is a choice. People had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions. Fear of change had them pretending to others and to themselves that they were content."

I should not be stuck in the same old rut, and instead start exploring options. Perhaps I should have a go at overseas universities, apply for scholarships no matter how difficult they seem to be, and know that I'd tried my very best in working towards my future.

Having said that, I should now put in my best efforts towards completing my final two group assignments due next week before thinking of submitting university applications.

I'd once again decided upon:

NUS - Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences: Psychology/Sociology (4 years)
NTU - Psychology (4 years)
NTU - Sociology (4 years)
NTU - Linguistic & Multilingual Studies (4 years)
Wheelock College - Early Childhood Education (2 years)

Monash University - Psychology (4 years??)

But #7, #8 & #9 are damn ex, and for #8 & #9, I'd have to stay in Australia if I do apply/get accepted... which is scary and fun at the same time. But then again, what are the odds of getting accepted?! Plus need to apply scholarship... I don't like troublesome things :/

I teared again after watching it in class yesterday. Seriously, I think I'm too soft-hearted! I cry so easily T_T

This video never fails to inspire me to be a teacher. I'd always dreamt of having such a student, who were tell me that I'd made a difference in his/her life. That's why I like to pay compliments to others starting with a simple "Thank you". I mean this to like perhaps bus drivers who greeted me in the morning, etc. I'd actually feedback to SBS before about such a driver, and I just hope that this simple gesture would have made that driver's day, like how he'd did to mine :)

In class today, Suraya got us all to write our thoughts about our friends on this wooden block/peg thing, so our clique decided to write for one another. I was quite touched by what my clique had wrote, and then Nad had to (jokingly?) said "Thank you" to me in this super sincere tone, and I'm like omg, started crying. I really will miss my clique/class a lot :(

& I woke up earlier today cos I thought it was the 1st, and I wanted to check what were the necessary documents for my uni application. I even went to NUS/NTU sites already, and I'm like, "Why are the applications still closed? It's 10++am already leh!" Then I realized that it's only 31st! I'm really worried about it :/

Shall just look at what are the requirements for university tomorrow (since I'm off!). Will get a haircut/dye my hair again! :)

Today I had this damn paper cut on my index finger, and Edwin put the plaster on for me. It's not like I like him, but it just feels nice having a guy do that for you. This sort of things makes me yearn (?!) for a boyfriend who would instinctively do such things for you?

Hahaha, well, I think Edwin is some sort of perverse sadist b/c he said that he liked to see my frustrated expression. He will always bully me till I become so aowejiantretuarnea!

Pepper Lunch aunties (Auntie Rose, Mui Siang, Long Mey) & dishwasher uncle gave me angbaos! :):) But I felt really bad cos I didn't bring mandarin oranges to bai nian. I totally rushed out of my house today b/c I overslept since my alarm didn't ring!

I had a nice lunch with Auntie Rose :) It'd been a nonggggg time since we've eaten together. & she even treat me to desert after that :) Really glad I have such a good relationship with her!

What else? I think Jeremy is kinda cute leh, but younger than me. Forever. EVERY GUY IS YOUNGER THAN ME. Why am I so old? :(

Uni applications start on Tuesday! I'd better get all my necessary documents together and try applying either on Wednesday or Friday. I'm really worried that I can't get into any of the three universities I'm applying to. Seriously, what if I get rejected?! My gpa's a borderline case for making it in to a local uni leh! :/ If not I'll be forced to start working full-time. Bloody hell, I pray that that won't be the case! :/ DIE ALSO HAVE TO GET IN.

Should I apply to overseas universities? :/ Perhaps applying for a scholarship, and get bonded for 6 years after that. Worth it? But at least I'd have a stable job right?

In case you guys didn't know my plans (I think I've only talked about it with my poly mates since we all worry together..), I'm going to apply to NUS - Psychology, NTU - Psychology & Wheelock College's Early Childhood. Maybe I'd try Sociology or Social Work also? Should I go apply at SMU too? Hmm...

Really wished I'd participated in ccas during my 3 years of Poly. It's like kinda wasted for not making new friends! :/

You know how one always judges others' appearances through pictures of them? This is a really random post about actors. It's just, when you see a drama/movie poster, and you see how handsome/pretty the guy/girl is, but during the drama/movie, you realize how not they are?

That's how I feel towards Jihyo during Goong days.

See! So pretty right! But when I watched Goong, I felt that I kena cheated cos she was okay looking. & then of course she captured me with her charm (no, I'm not les! Hahaha) through Running Man. So all's good :D

I completed NAPFA today! I passed everything except 2.4. SERIOUSLY. But it's not like I was expecting to pass that anyway hahaha. I'm kinda proud of myself for not giving up and just skip the entire thing altogether. It was a fun experience, and I miss those days in secondary school when I would walk with Danielle since we both couldn't run!

Anyway, I think ~~the guy who took our timing, etc.~~ official for our group quite cute leh! :) He literally (no, of course not) closed two eyes whilst we cheated; being with Peiqi they all are = (Y) They damn pro at cheating hahahahahahaha.

I'm feeling really beat, and there's attachment tomorrow! Last day though :( That means no more Cody, Trixia, Khairi & Tomo! I must go to the nursery class to see Khairi & Tomo tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a decent shot of Cody & Trixia together. Trixia is so cute okay. Whenever I take pictures, she will be posing and go like, "Some more." & just because of picture taking, she will listen to whatever I say, like, "Sit together with Cody.", "Put your arms around Cody.", "Hold hands with Cody!" Haha I need a picture of them together so I can put on my iPod screensaver!!! I wish I had those phones where I can self-take...

Also, I was just googling NUS/NTU's tuition grants for us prospective students (in case I ever get into any of the universities). Luckily they have the CPF thingy, and MOE bursaries! Seriously, if I get into NUS/NTU, the first thing I'd do is to apply for that. More $ for me!!!

I'll see what God has in store for me as I begin to apply for my universities next month. I still am unsure what exactly I want to do (just a rough idea), and hopefully I'll be grateful to whatever God has planned in my life!

I must start doing more exercises btw. Must lose weight also because I've gained? :(:(

I googled to figure out who's who, and yay, I like Liam! cos of his dressing, my type~ & Zayn is damn cute at 1:30-1:31. Hahaha, okay random! But why they younger than me ah? :(

SIMPLE PLAN SAVED MY LIFE

Thank God for Cek, his friend Kenneth, his friend Adeline, and a chanced upon his friend, Terence. Concert was sublime!

Before that, an early family reunion lunch with my family + relatives at Park Royal Hotel.

Yeah, so about that awesome concert..

After lunch, I went to meet Cek at Dhoby Ghaut. Met with Kenneth & Adeline @ Park Mall, and we walked to Fort Canning Park together. They were following me, and I was following young people b/c obviously young people don't go to Fort Canning Park on Sundays. Hahaha, I was right, and we were led right to the queue for the concert.

We reached that at about 4.30pm, and the concert only started at 8pm, so yeah... At first it was kinda awkward-ish b/c I'm a slow to warm up person. Haha but then after a while it went really well because Kenneth is damn sociable, plus Adeline was really nice :) Kenneth met his secondary school friend, Terence, and we got to cut queue with him :D

So 5 of us played Monopoly Deal, and chit chat lorxz. Managed to get into the area for the concert at around 7pm. It was really humid and stuffy since everyone was jammed together. We were at the front-middle there, so not too bad :)

Opening band - still no idea who they were since that dude only introduced himself, and asked us to check out their band's fb page (HELLO, Y U NO INTRO YOUR BAND NAME!). They played a couple of songs, but I only recognized like 2. Not bad la, haha. Still preferred ATL's opening band, The Dirt Radicals :)

They played from 7.30pm to about 8pm, and still no sign of Simple Plan :( They only came out around 8.30, but oh god. They were damn gooood! I've got about 13 fancam videos of them, and I didn't record like a lot of songs, so I guess they played about 18-20 songs in total?! Holy crap.

Everyone was high and jumping like crazy; which explains my awfully mad moving videos of 'em. Can't believe I'd managed to see my favourite band from P5 live after 9 years. WTF 9 YEARS!!!

Pierre had been my favourite member since forever (the lead singers are always the most popular ones I guess), but David was stealing the show man. He was funny, and cute, and mad!!! I will smile to myself whenever Jeff smiled to himself. Chuck was brilliant at drums! Sebastian also really cute! Pierre & David's banter, hahaha. Pierre was really good at hyping the crowd~

Kenneth almost caught Chuck's drumstick, but lost to a girl hahaha. Terence managed to get a guitar pick though! So unfair :( Y I always no souvenir one?

OKAY, one whole chunk of events that happened during Simple Plan concert. Hehehe, after the concert, we were all dying of thirst, so we settled for Burger King since it was the only store open and uncrowded. Finished this large cup of green tea that Cek treated :) & we all talked some more.

Took a cab back with Cek, Kenneth & Adeline whilst Terence took a train back~ Finally I'm not the last b/c one stayed in Yishun, another CCK, and so Cek was last hahahaha.

I'm currently reading Randy Pausch's The Last Lecture.

& then I realized I'd actually watched his whole lecture before...

It's worth the hour to watch the entire video.

The (real life) story of a man who had cancer. It was literally his last lecture as he shared about achieving his childhood dreams.

I like this sort of thinking books. So if you don't know what I like (or is/will be struggling in the future to buy me a present), here's a list:

1st January 2012. Has 2011 just gone by this quickly?!?!

This year is another year of transitions, with graduation coming in 2 months. I've yet to figure out what to do, but one thing's for sure - it has got to do with children. Maybe I ought to prepare for my 2 reference letters for Wheelock College just in case. I may not teach well, but I click well with children, and that's all that matters right? Perhaps being a special needs specialist would be good too.

Anyhoo, this new year's eve was spent at Tow Wei's alongside Huiqing, Lennard, Cek, Mitchell, Aaron, Isag, Ivan, Qiqi & Weixiang. After several rounds of mahjong, it appears that I can finally call both Qiqi & Weixiang by names, eh. Haha, and I forever lose money in mahjong; but it's still fun, so I'll take it as paying for the company.

Played daidee and bridge with Huiqing, Isag, Mitchell & Cek too. Isag is jjang at bridge omg. Whenever I have to partner Huiqing, I will sighhhhhhhhh. Hahahaha.

Pretty well-spent new year's eve IMO.

I found out this site called mydramalist.com & myanimelist.net. These sites help me organize my dramas/animes; and allow me to know which dramas/animes I've completed, and which ones I plan to watch some time in the future. Naise.

I've been watching Flower Boy Ramyun Shop the whole day, and only half-heartedly focusing on my OB-HRM assignment. Le sigh. OB-HRM is so dry, and I'm sure whatever I did was quite bull anyway :/

Hope I can meet with everyone again soon :) Till then, I want a Kindle to read all my ebooks! :) Speaking of books, I've recently read this book suggested by Sixu called "The Gift of Fear" by Kevin DeBecker..

Really interesting. Several points in the book intrigued me, but I didn't fully agree with his methods although he is an expert in the area of fear.

Niceness is not goodness.
Someone may be nice, but he/she may not be having good intentions. He/she could be loan sharking (refer to book!).

Praise for performance, correction for errors.

Like what I've learnt in my 3 years of studying early childhood, we ought to acknowledge and praise others whenever they've done well in something. In addition, when someone made a mistake, correct him/her immediately instead of ignoring. It would not help that person.

There was this other point about how colleagues are not people you choose to be with (unlike your friends), so we have to be more aware and tolerant of them. Or something like that la. Hahaha, I want to read this book about speaking out to audiences. Must go Popular to find~

I was happily reading Parfait Tic! after catching up on 12 years' worth of One Piece episodes. Holy shit, I finished 12 years' worth of One Piece eps after a few months, omg. Anyway, I thought that manga was completed, but to my horror, they haven't finished subbing (?!) the last few volumes yet :(

Then I realized that there was a Taiwan drama based on it, so.. :)

Watched this since Thursday/Friday. My Daiya~ Aaron acted the best, and made me like his character more; even though I preferred Calvin's character in the manga better. But still Calvin is :):)

Pretty decent drama since it mostly follows the manga's storyline :)

Okay I shall go watch Infinity Challenge's rowing challenge before starting on Flower Boy Ramyun Shop! I wonder when Okjagyo Brothers is gonna end!

Caught this with Daniella & Evania @ Cine today :) I was late b/c of the heavy rain, and so I couldn't get student price :( Oh well, paid for the company, eh!

The best part was the theatre was so full that we all had to sit separately?! Seriously felt like I was watching a movie by myself; which is a damn cool feeling by the way. I ought to do that more often :D

Movie was really good IMO :) Full of mind games! In the first movie, I preferred Robert Downey Jr., but in this one, I liked Jude Law more?! Both are so charming! ^^ & I just remembered that he acted as that ass in Contagion!

After that we walked around Cine since we were stuck b/c of the rain. D had to leave, and then E & I ate at KFC before heading off~

Nice to meet up with friends during holidays :)

Yes, I am blogging b/c you two (Cassandra & Huiqing) said I haven't blogged for ages! & since Cassandra did update... :)

I'm grateful to my friends (the above) for accompanying me to watch 50/50! :) The reviews were so good, but I guess it was too good that I'd expected something more cry worthy. Haha guess it's b/c this was supposedly a humourous film as well.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt foreva & eva!~ Hahaha, he's too cute to be true.

What else did we do after that? Spent a huge amount on dinner (sigh whyyyy!), and walked around town like tourists; taking pictures of the gorgeous decorations in the streets.

Like Cassandra mentioned in her blog, we got this foreigner to take a picture for 3 of us, and after that she asked where we were from. I so wasn't thinking, and replied, "Here. Singapore!" Then I realized my folly. Omg, she thought we were from another country can. I should have said Canada or something!

I want to go into the giant Christmas tree in front of Ion leh!

Did I mention my bursary money is in already?! So fast! Nad was saying it would take a few months to approve, and poof, I am filthy rich now (Hahaha, not. Huiqing is foreva da richest!~)

I must try to blog about work more often. I really admire Edwin for being so (Y) in organizing and thinking on his feet. Seriously, I was host today, and there was a group of 16. Immediately following the 16 were a couple, and a group of 12. I was so damn stressed cos the place was almost filled. But he came and saved the day! Even though I acted very ungrateful to him, I was in awe of his.. behaviour (?!).

Can't wait to meet clique tomorrow! :D:D

Mission Trip @ Batam 2011

I think I suffer from (mild?!) rheumatism; my body is aching!

I went to my first mission trip @ Batam with my church mates today :) It was pretty awkward at first b/c I wasn't shou with anyone (anymore); only my siblings, dad, and the in-charges. My brother was mentioning how weird it was to have grown up with the church, and yet seem so distant, especially with the so-called newcomers looking closer than ever with the others. But the church people tried their best to include us, which was really nice!

We headed to 3 different places within a day to distribute goods such as rice, clothes, toys, etc. to the villagers there. It felt like Family Outing as we travelled to the various destinations. I felt really overwhelmed right from the beginning, when I could sense how much these people adored and worshipped God despite their difficulties. These villagers stayed in a place where there were majority of Muslims. & not to be religion-ist, but we know how some Muslims are v extreme, and hence, it was rather dangerous for the people to gather in a church just to praise the Lord, and with the pastor preaching in these different places.

I felt ashamed that while I had a perfectly safe church to go to, I'd neglected it for years, and yet these people yearned to be closer with our Lord. Like in Chiangmai, I learnt how to be contented with what I have. Hopefully this won't be an one-off thing where I feel this way for only a short period of time before turning into the old me.

I pray that I'd join my father in these mission trips in the future; at least once every two months.

Overall, it was a fruitful trip b/c I'd learnt many things from the people there :)

One of the pastors (my dad's friend/in-charge) told me after the trip that I'd a natural flair with children. I was saying how this was due to the "training" I received for the past 3 years in ECH. But what he said struck me as I'd never thought that way about myself. I admit I love to see the smiles on children's faces, and would often be the first to smile or say a simple greeting to them. I guess that's the first step of being with children?

In addition, at attachment, there is this triplets in the PG class who I think have some sort of "problem". They are definitely not atypically growing children. But I enjoy conversing with them (when they're calm and not screaming like mad) and like to see that they actually applied what I taught them! Perhaps this is God's plan for me in the future. Idk, I'll just have to continue praying for it :)

Finally caught this with Sixu, Lycia & Evania whilst we skipped school today @ AMK Hub. We visited Nurul before that :)

So worth the ponteng! The lead guy is so handsome/charming omg. & the lead girl forever pretty in my eyes. & the ending was so sad even though I kinda heard from people about the ending. I teared :( Am I the only emotional one in our group?! Le sigh.

Went down to Uncle Ben's father-in-law's wake after that. Teared again whilst listening to Dominic's testimony about her grandfather. Wish I could have went up and said something positive about my grandmother too :(

& I totally missed MAMA 2011 even though it was airing live in Sg! I now have to resort to youtube videos... Should I go for SS4?!?!

Time mangement

Reading people's blogs about time management skills... Blogs remind me of how MH was ranting over her (ex) group mates on fb two days ago. & twitter was filled with dislike for her spam.

Sometimes I feel bad being so mean, but I just can't help it. I promise to change for the better and be a proper angel?! Oh, and in case you didn't know, our clique decided to play 'Angel & Mortal' and I (suay suay) got her as my mortal... Okay I hope she isn't reading my blog because O: scary.

I'm all done with OB-HRM & hopefully CDES assignment 1. I do pray that they're done correctly. I have a bad feeling that whatever I did for CDES 1 is meant for CDES 2 :/

Speaking about time management skills, I don't mean to brag, but I do feel that I have pretty decent time management skills. I'll always plan ahead of what I need to do, and try my best to accomplish it at that time. Otherwise, I'd do twice that amount of work on the next day. Before that, I'd make use of children's nap time during attachment / break time during work to do a draft my assignment so that I can start typing it out when I'm free.

So maybe this would help you (Sixu & Lycia, hiii) to manage assignments properly :) I need those A's!!!!

P.S. I went to church today :) Feels good. But I need to attend the youth service again. I ought to to hint to some of them to ask me to join hor? Hahaha #pride But then again, there shouldn't be pride in front of God.

Where to I want to go after graduation?

Now that graduation is approaching, I've been wondering, "Where do I want to go after graduation?", "What do I want to do in the future?" & "Can I foresee myself in this line for the next 10 to 15 years?"

There's one thing for sure: I do not want to start working immediately. Yes, I know it is great to start earning my keep, and gain invaluable experience/headstart at such a young age. But if you didn't know, I'm a pretty conventional person; I have to graduate from a local university. It is just part and parcel of life (like how we've to go through primary, secondary and tertiary education).

Unfortunately, with my slightly above (is it?) gpa now, I still don't make into NUS's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. So what's left to do now is keep looking at various university admissions, hoping that I'll somehow make the cut with my final semester's gpa.

Also, looking at these admission criteria made me regret not working hard enough during 'O' levels. I know it's been 3 years, but the 'O' level results affect my results of getting in! I need a minimum pass in A Math to get into NUS's Psychology, and I got the minimum. But what if someone else had an A in A Math, and have the exact same gpa as me? Obviously that person will be chosen over me to get in the course. Sigh.

I'm still unclear what I will be doing even if I get into psychology. Counselling psychologist? Educational psychologist? All that matters now is that I work bloody hard for my remaining assignments and refrain from complaining too much about the workload/stress level.

Another day of doing assignments awaits. I have to complete my OB-HRM interview questions + scoring key and design a stupid web advertisement, as well as start on CDES assignments one and two.

In addition, draft a parent letter to inform parents about our parent workshop, and start finding information regarding our topic for the workshop. So many things to be done in the next 4 days! *in Gary's voice* STRESS!~

I pray God will continue to bless me with wisdom to allow myself to be sure of what I want to do and give me the conviction of working hard for my dreams..

Add: I HAVE A BLOODY SCAR (okay the scar isn't bloody..) ON MY RIGHT PALM. WTF! My pretty hands are gone! & as much I enjoy touching it (haha like pervert) but my smooth palm :( Hotplates are dangerous! :/

Ouran High School Host Club

I just finished watching Ouran High School Host Club :) 11 eps x 20 minutes. Quite short eh! That's why I love to watching Japanese dramas (although I'm still struggling with Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge)

"The story revolves around a high school girl named Fujioka Haruhi at the prestigious Ouran Academy, who stumbles upon a group of male students who have formed their own club as hosts. Accidentally breaking an antique vase, Haruhi ends up owing the club a vast amount of money, and she ends up posing as a host in order to repay her debt."

The drama kept to the manga/anime so it's damn hilarious, especially watching Tamaki go crazy real life. I thought Tamaki was ugly, but then realized he has his charms ♥

Today is the day where all tears must cease; forced to stop crying other you'll seem silly. It's sad, and even more upsetting when life still goes on despite a lost loved one. The apparent emptiness of her spot in the house where we'll always greet her with a drowsy 'good morning', and a lethargic 'I'm back.' The sound of the tv blaring because she can't hear properly, while the rest of us will complain it's too loud. Her 'lift me higher!' or 'scratch my back' will never be heard again.

It's too late for regrets, but there is one which I will never forget: missing her birthday this year. At that point of time, I still thought that she'd live for another few years, and decided to stay on for dinner with my friends instead of celebrating her birthday. Sigh, what was I thinking back then?

Enough of that though. The past few days was pretty exhausting due to lack of manpower; my mum and I had to sit through the night, whilst my dad got some rest before taking over the shift in the morning. I would like to thank the relatives and friends for their support, and am especially grateful to those who purposely came all the way to Woodlands to just see how I'm doing (?); i.e. Lycia, Nad, Evania, Dorcas, Charmaine, Cassandra, Huiqing, Weizheng, John & Tow Wei. It was really nice of you guys to come down and I was really touched.

A pity I didn't take any recent pictures with her :/

I would just like to share how cute my grandmother was. She really was like a child. Plus, her memory's damn good. & one thing I admire about her was how the first thing in the morning once she's out in the living room is that she would face the window and pray to God. (I know my father said this yesterday, but it was the thing I wanted to share too) I hope one day I will be as close to God as she is, and I'm glad she is enjoying her time in Heaven :)

P.S. I would like to thank God for allowing me to see her one last time, and enabling our family to be there when she passed away.

Every time I visit my grandmother at the hospital, I'll cry. It's like once I start taking a good look at her, I'll cry. When we make eye contact, I cry. When she has difficulty speaking, I cry.

I try my best not to, but my tears just keep flowing out by themselves. I don't understand why I'm so weak emotionally. Even my younger sister doesn't cry! Sigh, at least she still recognizes me right?

I think of what I want to say, but can barely speak to her properly because I'll just start crying after like 5 seconds. I want to talk to her so much. Memories keep coming back; how she always asked me to lift her up (she sits on a wheelchair btw), give her some water, put cream on her legs and arms cos they're always aching/itching, etc.

What on earth was I thinking when I complained? I would kill for her to just ask me to help her with anything again.

I guess we only regret when thing start going down.

My grandmother is on the verge of dying. It sounds bad, but Idk. She's been very weak these past few days. She's still sleeping as I blog, and it's not normal because she always wakes up early in the morning, and is out in the living room by 930.

& my maid heard my grandmother calling out for "Ah Wong" who is my grand-aunt who passed away long ago. So yeah, signs are popping out everywhere.

I'm still at the denial stage where I don't feel anything yet. YET. But I swear once it happens, I'll go emo and everything. But at least she's going peacefully right?

Anyway, my mum is calling up our relatives to inform them I guess. Get them to visit her before she kicks the bucket.

Simple Plan is coming to town!

Yesterday, I went out with Huiqing on an impromptu-ish trip to town. I shouldn't have went! Make me spend a lot only :( (But it was still a nice time ;) - yes, a wink!)

1 dress, 1 top = $65. I don't know what I was thinking in F21 man. But it's okay, they are lovely items, which I will wear for at least 10 times to make my money worth. So don't judge me when you see me wearing the dress over again every week!

We went to visit Cassandra at the Subaru car challenge. So fun lor! I also want to play. But I doubt I can survive 77++ hours?! I still need to sleep/not get drenched in the rain. Poor people :/ & I saw Vernon A live! Hahaha he's not that fat what!

I was talking to Hai Xin on the way home after attachment on Friday. He was asking me what I do at home, etc. He made me realized how no life I am?! All I do is work, school, home. & at home, I only watch Korean dramas/animes #omgwhut.

I guess I'm supposed to enjoy the nightlife at this age. Perfect time to go clubbing every night or something?! But that's not me :/ Why can't people stay at home and read a perfectly good book or something?

Anyway, I am damn stressed about field practicum this upcoming Wednesday. I keep thinking about it because I feel so ill-prepared. I was writing a to-do list at work today, and I wrote something like

Chin Guan started laughing at me for being so gay. But it's true! I need to like self-regulate (is that the right word?!). & yes, this is how I motivate/encourage myself? By writing/thinking such thoughts.

Stupid Edwin is damn bias, cannot tahan. Next Sunday = PH. I'm working 8 hours. Jefferson's working 8 hours. Wan Ying's working 11 hours. Chin Guan's working 13 hours. WHAT ON EARTH?! I really think it's unfair. I was complaining to Auntie Rose just now, zzz.

On the bright side, I drank Koi 3 times this week, and it was all treated by someone :) First was Muisiang, then Sixu, and today Edwin. Hehehe~

Oh, and I learnt 1-10 in Vietnamese, German & Filipino today :)

It's been a while since I've watched a Korean drama (and finishing it). I think the last was 49 Days, and that was in May (seriously?!). I didn't even finish The Greatest Love! :|

I kinda didn't expect much from this drama so I'm glad I survived through the earlier episodes (I always die at like ep 3-5), because this show is so funny. I think all of the characters were 4D?!

Choi Kang Hee = not the usual K-drama heroine who always cries whenever things get tough. Instead, she fights back (literally).
Ji Sung = so childish + charming!
Jaejoong = acting was pretty solid (as the episodes goes) + cute~
Wang Ji-Hye = really don't like people with goldfish eyes, but she really won me over! (vvvvvv cute!)
For the first time, my favourite character isn't the guys, but the second lead actress :)
The chairman, chairman's mother & President Shin (Y)(Y)(Y)
All characters are quirky in their own ways
ENDING WAS PERFECT ♥

It's really a not-very-drama drama. It doesn't have this crazy conflict that makes you want to kill the bad guys. Try to survive the first five episodes, and it'll go uphill from there~

Not that I want to complain but I just felt a little indignant when I only worked half day today. I know how I always say how tired I am, but it's a damn PH! I clearly told Edwin/Ah Rong that I want to work full day. I'm okay with working half day because I know there are many part-timers especially the usual ones who works on weekdays. So it won't be fair to cut them just to slot me in.

However, I believe I am entitled to a full day shift when newer staff like Chin Guan/Wan Ying worked 8 hours today? It's kinda unfair to me because hello - I've been slogging it out for you guys for 2.5 years already. I heard Chin Guan felt a little .. because he was only supposed to work 5 hours (but then he got extended).

Didn't really want to complain because I felt okay working half day, but just a little *shakes head* since really not fair lorxzxzxzxz. I must go guilt trip Edwin for planning the schedule manz.

Real Steel!

Caught this with Lycia (& Sixu, sort of) @ Plaza Singapura after school today! Another impromptu outing, hahaha. It's crazy how that works.

Anyway, Real Steel was soooo good! Real Steel > Contagion, and that's saying something b/c I really enjoyed Contagion. Instead of getting charmed by Hugh Jackman (like I always do), I got charmed by little Dakota Goyo (Maxx!!). He's so cute and handsome! :):)

There were many times in the movie I wanted to cheer/jeer. Haha Lycia also lor. She was like "Wooo~" when Atom won.

Before that though, Lycia, Sixu, Nurul, Evania & I went to Clementi. Sixu treated us Koi (aww) and then both of us signed up for new savings account at OCBC. Why did I do so? Because the debit cards are so pretty! Hahaha, seriously. I'm opening an account for a design of a debit card. Oh well, I heard rates are better here too~

Okay gtg watch my Protect The Boss. I must go download Real Steel and let my family watch!

My arms are aching like crazy. I don't think Marché's plates are heavier than Pepper Lunch's hotplates leh. It's just that the tray is rather small, so all the weight is concentrated, unlike at Pepper Lunch where the tray is quite broad so it takes less effort to carry? Oh, and that we have to walk half of Marché just to put the trays.

Anyway, I swear I'm best at service. I feel so stressed at host all the time. Beno is a very nice guy :) No one interests me @ Marché, :| Luckily there weren't a lot of customers tonight! So it was quite boring upstairs. Cassandra sounds so dead whenever she repeats a queue, etc.

Sorry my sentences are quite all of the blue with no connecting words. I'm lazy to think eh!

Utd got thrashed by City 6-1 at home. 3 goals in injury time! Wtf! If only Liverpool won last week.. then Utd would be doubly owned :) But I want City to be champions this season. It would just prove that money can buy happiness, which is so not true btw.

Okay byebye. I have school tomorrow at 9, and I need to watch at least one episode of Protect The Boss before I sleep :) It's getting interesting!

It's been a long time since I've spazz like crazy to myself. I swear even this beats Ed's sms to me on my birthday!

It was/is Mr Liew's birthday today, and so...

I can't believe he remembered!! Like seriously~ I always remember bugging him telling me his birthday ever since he revealed that it was in October. But then he'd always say wait till I get an A for Physics... (Yes, I liked his comment... :D)

& I still remember how he wished me happy birthday in Sec 4?! He shook my hand also! Wait lemme go find my archives!

One weakness about me is that I tend to be overemotional and push the blame all to myself when I'm barely at fault. I just can't defend myself when I feel that I'm in the wrong too. I guess a couple of you know the story, and I would like to thank those that have advised me.

I teared when I read Dorcas's message. "Of course we are!", she says after I asked if we're still friends. Such reassurances definitely lift my spirits up. With Charmaine, I just hope everything will be alright between us.

I'm really thankful to God for allowing me to have my good old friends back, and having current friends who will listen to you rant and giving you support (yes you, Sixu!).

Hopefully I'll meet up with Charmaine & Dorcas soon so that we can clear the air face to face as well.

Downloaded this and watched it last night :) It was pretty good, and I don't know who said it was like soft porn, but it wasn't?! Haha Idk. Justin Timberlake has awesome bod, but his voice abit girl ah. Mila Kunis is very charming!~

Also, I kinda figured out what I want to do after I graduate from Ngee Ann already. It's sort of what I've been wanting to do for the longest time.

You see, one of the lecturers (Karen) shared with us a story of a child with forced mutism yesterday. The child was HIV positive, and his parents abandoned him because of it. They blamed him saying how they wouldn't want to sell him if he didn't have that condition (which is damn hypocritical because they also were HIV positive T_T). & hence, he like kena traumatized, and stayed muted.

So anyway, I thought and pictured myself helping the child to speak once again and showed him that there are other people in the world that loves him...

So uh, what job is this called exactly? Social worker? Psychologist? Counsellor? Someone answer me please!!!

Caught this after school with Lycia, Nad & Sixu. Our clique really works best at impromptu plannings. Seriously!!!!!! Since Sixu & I wanted to make use of our 1-for-1 tix @ GV, we headed down to Plaza Singapura. I didn't want to watch the movie at first b/c I knew the ratings were bad. However, I changed my mind after watching the trailer...

Chris Evans is soooooo hot and handsome. & speaking about him, I realized I still haven't caught Captain America! I must go download that movie. Anna Faris is really pretty, especially in short hair?!?! :) I saw Chris Evans's ass O: I googled, and found out that Anna Faris's real life husband is "Digusting Donald" in the movie?! So ironic! Hahaha.

First day of school was pretty alright since it was all lectures. I barely paid attention. Ought to download my Protect The Boss so that I can watch it~

Must avoid one-on-one with Sixu because she always talk about future plans, and I have not the slightest clue of what I forsee myself doing for the next 15-20 years. Definitely going to a local university. But which one? & which course? This is 100000000x worse than after O's.

Getting all my documents ready for the MOE bursary. Extra $ for myself :) So maybe I can learn driving after all?!?! :):)

Because of a certain situation, the bi-annual (?!) bbq was pretty messed up at first. Things are still not cleared up, and I really need to speak with Charmaine/Dorcas asap.

Before that though, I met up with Nad & Alida @ Marina Square after the longest time of not spending time with each other (esp Alida!). It felt good that it was the 3 of us again hahaha. We ate at Manhattan's Fish Market (like damn rich siol), and sat there talking/ranting about things that are going on in our lives.

I think we sat there for quite a while before heading to Secret Recipe (once again, like damn rich) for some brownies/cakes. Mm, baked oreo cheesecake! :D So gooooood. Oreo cheesecake is forever my #1.

From the 3 days of Juice Bar training @ Marché, I have learnt how to friggin' cut a watermelon & orange + garnish. How cool is that. I've never tried it out, so I'm glad to gain such knowledge/experience from working :)

Made some new friends-ish already hehehe. Thank God for Cassandra! I like Anthony, he's very cute! & Zheng Hua really reminds me of Fusen, like x1000!

What else? Going out to meet Nad & Alida tomorrow @ Marina Square. It's been such a long time since I've been out with Alida. Speaking of Alida, I went to visit her @ PS with Cassandra after work today. #likeaninja only she. All I did was made a half-turn to scare her from behind, and she suddenly disappeared ok. Hahaha.

So yesterday I went out for dinner with Cassandra, Huiqing & Weizheng @ Holland Village to supposedly celebrate my birthday. I had to travel down for that :( Why they no go Woodlands/North??? But circle line was fast :)

I really enjoyed myself because it's been FOREVER since four of us gathered together, and we dined at Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant. I can never spend so much on food hahaha. But okay la, food was good :)

After that, we chilled at Starbucks and just caught up with each other. Felt really nice hearing everyone's stories, etc.

Ta-da, I finally got to keep a polaroid! :) Shall wait for more pictures from Huiqing~~

Time at Marché got by damn quickly. I guess it was because there was Cassandra + we had a 45 minutes break! I like going home early, but the times I go and come back from work are peak hours so I HAVE NO SPACE TO SIT IN THE MRT, zzz.

FUCKING BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO OMG. KPop concerts CANNOT compare to this. It was worth to stand in the rain throughout the whole thing (although I was really zzz while waiting)

Yes, those are bras. Hahaha, it's because in US, whenever ATL performs, the girls would throw their bras on stage, and I guess Singapore just followed their style.

I shall post some fancams once my videos are up. Everyone was jumping and singing along to them. Jack did the most fanservice, like some high siao person moving about the stage with his guitar. I really like Zack, hehehe. So cute with his dimple! Alex's voice was osm, and Rian, I couldn't really see him cos of the angle :/

The Dirt Radicals were brilliant as well. Never knew they were Pug Jelly/Saw Loser. Like hello, PUG JELLY!! Loved their songs when I was p6. Now to grab their album when I go HMV! :) Masashi was damn charming :D

Marché is not the life for me

I got home about 15 minutes via transport from Marché. I ended work at 1 mind you. So imagine tomorrow, I will reach home around 245, and have work the very next day @ Pepper Lunch at 10. Wow, life is so fucking awesome. Not.

I don't even know why my schedule is like that! My pimples are appearing on my face (okay so it's mostly due to my period), and I swear I have a lack of sleep :(

I've decided to not pursue a career (HAHA) in Marché anymore. Or at least that's what I think for now. I could change my mind tomorrow! But yes, it's so stressful in a way, and I seem so useless there (which I don't like!). Sigh, maybe I should hint that I found a higher paying job at somewhere to Ah Rong/Edwin so they maybe increase my pay?! Like real they will though :/

Kavan & I made a pact on my last day of attachment back in February that I'd go down to the centre on his birthday (27th September) and sort of celebrate it for him. I remembered him saying how he might not go to school because his parents could bring him out, and I told him he HAD to ask his parents to celebrate in school. He thought about it, and then agreed. He even said that if his parents didn't celebrate his birthday in school, he'd still bring a slice of birthday cake for me after that.

I woke up early this morning, all prepared to go down to the centre after 7 whole months of not seeing my kids/teachers. However, like always, I grew lazy. WHY AM I SO LIKE THAT?! I feel so bad :( I was so determined somemore. But I still gave up in the end because I thought of how awkward things would be with the teachers.

I swear I will have to go down before school starts because if I don't, they'd all graduate from childcare and move on to primary school. I must buy something for them. I must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must see Kavan again because he promised to treat me Soup Restaurant when he grows older. I will also write down my number/email for him so that he can contact me. Hahaha, this is how bias I am towards my favourites :)

Today was my official first day at work @ Marché. In case you guys didn't know, I'd previously applied for this job with Cassandra.

Anyway, Cassandra & I did the craziest thing ever, which was to wear the "dirndls" (just google) whilst walking around 313. It's like once we went in, we immediately changed to this dress?! So paiseh, and the staff were like self-highing by themselves haha. I can never do that.

The worst part of it was that Jun Hao & pals (i.e. Daniel, Terence, Joel & Ngeow; WHY WAS JOHN LATE :() saw us (in those dresses!)!! So weird. Haha, and I also saw Saunders with his girlfriend. Even weirder. Le sigh, of all days when I don't want to see familiar faces, I do.

But I guess the working part was alright :) Time flew by quite quickly. Plus the staff there looks young even though they're old!?

& yes, I still work at Pepper Lunch. I have to decide which to work at because it's crazy to manage both at the same time. I mean, it's still holidays, so it's alright for now, but once school starts.... This week alone, if I'm not working at Pepper Lunch, (I think) I'll be working at Marché, so yeah.

Working at Marché would allow me to step out of my comfort zone and gain experience (plus, better pay too!). However, I still have feel for Pepper Lunch :/ So idk, should I, or should I not. Hmm...............

Monday, 19 Sep; Day 1:

Evania, Lycia, Sixu & I were supposed to meet at the Budget Terminal at uh, 2/3pm.
I was the earliest because my dad fetched me :)
My mum tagged along too. She said she had to come because it was my first time overseas by myself.
Lycia couldn't make the trip because she was feeling unwell :/
Reached KL at around 7pm.
We stayed at Trader's Hotel (thanks Evania's mum!) which was really close to the twin towers!!!

Tuesday, 20 Sep; Day 2:

Evania & Sixu went for the breakfast buffet whilst I slept in...
Lycia tweeted us the good news that she managed to book a ticket and would be reaching in the afternoon
After lazing in the hotel (watching Glee), we left for Sungei Wang to shop.
Sungei Wang's sort of like Far East Plaza... Slightly-cheaper-than-Singapore goods :)
I didn't spend much the first day..
We met with Evania's mum after our shopping, and Lycia came shortly after.
We went to dinner at this toilet bowl-inspired place which was pretty cute.
Did I mention that we travelled around by ourselves (either walking/monorail)? It's like we're true blue Malaysians already hahahaha.
Evania's mum kept taking pictures of us in the hotel room against the twin towers backdrop..

Wednesday, 21 Sep; Day 3:

It was Lycia's & mine turn to go for the breakfast buffet!

We kopped food back for the rest of them. It was damn epic because both of us were afraid to get caught by the hotel staff!
Off for more shopping at Sungei Wang since Lycia didn't get to shop the day before.
Spent more money this time around...
We ate Macs for lunch, and they have friggin' "ayam goreng"!!! It's so good, and so worth!! (because it's so much cheaper than Macs in Sg)
Dined with Evania's mum again at Sushi King.
I don't really feel bad for letting her mum treat us (hahaha)
After that, we decided to walk around somemore, and decided to watch a movie - Contagion
THE TICKETS + POPCORN COMBO WERE DAMN CHEAP!
It cost us around 3.70 SGD for the tix (each) and popcorn + drink was about 3.50 SGD, like wtf. Why can't Sg tix/popcorn combo be this dirt cheap as well?!?!
Plus the quality can rival.. GV?!
The movie was so good btw, I shall elaborate more below!

Thursday, 22 Sep; Day 4:

Lycia had to leave and the rest of us made our way to Genting :)
I wasn't feeling too well (why oh why did I eat the overnight muffin!!!!!!)
Took a bus, and then cable car to Genting Highlands! Sixu's and my first time! :)
I died after the second ride because my stomach cannot tahan already.
Saw Nick Yong, but I was paiseh to see him since I looked so shagged and unwell...
Too bad we didn't continue our sharing at night. I really can't share with others my inner, inner feelings w/o crying. Idk, I'm just that emotional I guess. That's why I prefer sharing about stuff via online methods (because you can't see me crying IF I'm crying hahaha)

Friday, 23 Sep; Day 5

We left the hotel at 9+, and reached the airport at 11+am.
Bought Dunkin' Donuts for my family before we boarded the plane :):):) Best donuts ever~
Played "Ugly Mahjong" in the flight back..
Ate Macs with Sixu upon landing because I wanted the game labels lol!
Dad fetched me back :)

I really enjoyed myself. It was a new experience of travelling alone with only friends. I hope to do this more often (if I have $$). Bangkok/HK ok (@ Huiqing, Cassandra & Weizheng!)?!?!

Contagion was superb IMO. It made me think about how I'd react if there was a crazy virus spreading. Would I be like the folks who rushed for the food/medicine w/o caring for others (i.e. looters?!)? If I was part of the "higher-ups" and knew of decisions that could make or break the country, would I warn my family/friends about it despite knowing it is breaking the professional code (?!?!)? Can I be selfless like the doctors/nurses?!?

I've never thought that Kate Winslet was pretty, but I changed my mind after this movie. She's so pretty! :) Jude Law is charming, and Matt Damon looks fat :/

I recommend you guys to watch it?!?! Hahaha. I think the director/scriptwriters are damn smart~

P.S. Sorry for not getting you guys anything. I didn't want to spend all my money (b/c it's not mine, they're sponsored by my parents/grandparents and I feel bad spending it all), and I couldn't find anything good enough for you guys~

A couple of hours to go before I leave for the airport! Hahahaha I feel so excited! My first time going overseas with friends (even if it's just KL!). I pray I find what I want, and I won't spend ALL the money given generously by my family :) I also hope my luggage won't exceed the weight limit!

Anyhoos, I'll be back by Friday afternoon so you guys don't miss me too much okay :D

Yesterday, I met Huiqing, Cassandra & Joe at TNP Sports Bar to catch Spurs vs Liv. We then decided to switch to The Lobby Bar cos we weren't sure if the Sports Bar was airing the game. Cek came by later on during the second half. I'm surprised Cek even came!

We then ate supper outside thereee. Hahaha I still don't know what that place is called. I thought it would be awkward, but I don't think it was, right?

I knew I should have stayed home! Spurs was obviously the better side. It was a really, really, really bad game for Liverpool. 2 red cards, don't know how many yellows, the game ended with 4-0 to Spurs. We needed an inspiration-like figure in the bench that would change the game (i.e. Gerrard, Benayoun, Meireles). I realized we didn't have any super-subs anymore. WHY DID KENNY SELL MEIRELES!!!!! (He's been in Chelsea's starting XI for the past two games alr)

Nehmind, next time we go watch Liverpool vs Utd okay! :) Speaking of Utd, I predicted the exact scoreline for their game against Chelsea! 3-1! Omg, I must be a genius. Should have learnt how to place soccer bets!

I like this word. But we tend to do this quite often! For example... I can't think of any examples, but I will add to this post once I think of them! Oh! I saw on dictionary.com, "free gift".

Anyway, I woke up this morning panicking because I knew I had something I wanted to do, but totally forgot about it. After a while later did I realize it was to check my results. It was damn gay I swear!

Haha, and the results are really pleasing to my eyes :) Unfortunately, my cumulative gpa remains within the same circle (?!). OKAY, WHAT TYPE OF CUMULATIVE GPA INCREASES BY 0.06, WHEN IT ONCE DROPPED BY 0.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Results are frickin' tomorrow! Oh god, I'm getting all panicky already! This feels worse than O's, and maybe slightly better than 2 sems ago! I still remember staying up till 3+ and waking up at like 5+ because I was worried about my results (poly, not O's).

WHY THE HELL DID I REMEMBER THAT RESULTS ARE COMING OUT TOMORROW! I wouldn't even have known when results were coming in till Jefferson told me like a few weeks ago. WHY THE HELL DID JEFFERSON TELL ME WHEN RESULTS ARE COMING IN?! Hahaha I'm really getting worried (for no good reason). I keep thinking of Ms Belinda's C+ assignment. Wtf, what if I got another C+ for her assignment, and the group project couldn't pull the grades up enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IF I GET A C FOR ANY MODULES!?!?!?!?!

My gpa cannot afford to go any lower than 3.5. WHAT IF MY GPA IS 3.3!?!? WHERE THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO GO AFTER GRADUATION?! Omg, I really pray that I'll get >3.7. The ideal situation would my getting >3.85. But is that even possible?! I need to pull up my cumulative gpa! Sian, I feel so asdasdasd now. Can y'all pray for me? :(

Tow Wei's 19th

Finally I can blog about Tow Wei's 19th birthday celebrations two weeks ago!

The gist:

Tow Wei drove us to his house and we watched a movie called Knowing. Interesting show btw. Nicolas Cage is still ugly.

Well, Tow Wei's parents organized a bbq for us (I think) so we had good food :) Played some Monopoly Deal and awesome mahjong with Ivan, his girlfriend and his friend. Seriously, mahjong is an international game (as in you can sort of make friends through it)! Hahaha.

Ta-da!

People who were there: Cassandra, Huiqing, Tow Wei (duh), Mitchell, Cek, Lennard, Ivan, Ivan's girlfriend called Samantha (she's really nice!) and Ivan's friend (forgot his name).

The (real) gist:

Whilst playing mahjong, I got the most incredible set of tiles ever!

Hahahahahaha. I've been dying to show everyone! I wanted to let my mum see the picture just now, but then I realized that all "13 yao"s look the same. You know how blinking difficult it is to get such tiles?! Somemore mine is zi mo 'bai ban'. ZI MO YOU KNOW. AS IN I TAKE THE TILE TO WIN?! SO EVERYONE HAD TO PAY ME DOUBLE (if we played money :()!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, frickin' proud of myself because Samantha had actually "pong"ed 'fa' already, and I thought all hope was gone. But then, after like 2 rounds, I got 'fa'! Like, what are the odds! Hahaha, I can still remember every detail of that game, cos "13 yao" is damn difficult to get. Like really!!!!!!! My mum said she only got like 4/5 times in her 20+ years of playing. & I just googled "13 yao" and saw that Xiaxue got "13 yao" after 8 years of playing. I must be a fucking genius!!!!!!!

Work was alright today. Finally no 8k! Yessah! Idkw I kept sharing stuff with Edwin. Hehehe, secret eyecandy that no one knows! & it's damn annoying for people to "look down" on my abilities in cashiering or doing service. Hello, I've worked at Pepper Lunch for 2.5 years already, I'm pretty sure I'm more experienced than you ok -.-

Went out with Huiqing & Cassandra to town (again) to supposedly apply for a new job. Hahaha, failed in the end, and just emailed the staff. Hopefully we'll get a favourable reply soon! :)

Anyway, we went to H&M. There is a queue just to enter! So.... jialat meh? I still don't see the fuss about H&M hahaha. We saw Russell (I ought to fb him now) and he's so handsome hahahahahahaha.

Waited forever for seats at Aston's. I swear the staff at Aston's are questioning us (like I question Pepper Lunch customers) as to why we bother to queue when we have to wait like an hour plus for a table. Oh well. Mitchell, Aaron, Cek, Lennard & Tow Wei met us for dinner.

I couldn't believe that we all went home after dinner! Like wtf! We only sat there for a while, and the guys were basically repeating the topics about what they talked about; i.e. driving, army, gaming. I wanted to hang more >:|

Bus ride home with Mitchell & Cek was rather fun actually. I kinda missed chatting with Cek haha.

Unfortunately, I missed my grandmother's birthday celebrations, but I don't really feel guilty?! Omg, I'm a bad granddaughter. But it's like everyone is asleep so they won't chide me?! I still have to work at 10 tomorrow before going to Weide's birthday party thing with Cassandra.

I shall watch more How I Met Your Mother now, tata!~

I don't understand why ONE person have to sit in a 4-seater place. I get it if there's two of you and you want to put your stuff around, but ONE?!
Why do you walk right into the store when it states clearly, "Please wait to be seated." WHY?!
A little acknowledgement and appreciation ("Thank you") won't hurt
Oi, respond when I read your order out leh. Don't stone at your friend/me. I can't mind read, I don't know who's frickin' order is this!
Why do you always ask for ice-cream when I'm in the midst of carrying hotplates?!
Do not tell me rudely, "Where is my ice-cream? I waited very long for it already." I do not know where your ice-cream is until you give me your bloody receipt.

Actually there are a lot more things to complain about customers. I just can't think of them now. It's like when it happens, it happens. All the pent-up frustrations! Hahaha, and well, my right arm is aching because of dish-up. Crap, I swear my right arm's muscles is very obviously more than my left's! :/

Hmm, did I mention I've been reading the Shopaholic series for the past week already? I wish the author would write a book in Luke's perspective!

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Went out with Lycia & Sixu yesterday. We sang K at Teoheng before heading down to town for a movie. It seems that only 3 of us are honouring our promises to meet up!

Anyhoo, tix for Crazy, Stupid, Love at 7+ were all sold out, and hence, we could only get the tix for the 2145 show at Plaza Sing. We ate, talked, walked and finally killed enough time for the movie hehehe.

I knew my tastes in movies are (Y) HAHAHA. The movie was really enjoyable IMO. I'd expected something different watching the trailer, but the movie turned out to be a good different, so yay. Some of the scenes were damn epic! Like the slapping of face part by the guys, and the.. shan't spoil anymore! The audience (i.e. me and other people) clapped and laughed which is a good sign of a good movie...

Ryan Gosling is so handsome and charming, "his body is photoshopped" lol. Even though I was bowled over by Ryan Gosling in the trailer, Idkw but I felt that Steve Carrell trumps Ryan (my friend hahaha) in charisma. Honestly, when he dressed up properly, I'm like whoaaaaa. Julianne Moore is sooooo pretty!

I swear if Robbie confesses to me like he did for Jessica in the movie, I will be damn touched! Haahahaha, okay so if y'all are free, go watch okay :D

Managed to take the last train home! Yay me!

So I went to Borders sale & the COMEX fair this afternoon with Tow Wei & my brother. I couldn't find the books I wanted, and instead, bought 2 other books which cost around $18 for both.

Saw Sixu, Wingsze & Cheryl at the COMEX fair! Haha, and the crowd was crazyyyyy! I guess you only go there when you have something you want in mind. I came home with a 500GB hard disk (like finally!) & this

$170.10 iPod speaker. The sound quality is damn awesome, but I am regretting my decision like mad already. My brother la! He convinced me to get it, and then after I told him the one I was eyeing in Challenger was a Creative brand, and only $99, he told me I should have gotten the Creative one because apparently, Creative is a renowned for their sound systems?! LIKE HOW THE HELL WOULD I KNOW THAT HUH!!!!!!

But anyway, I will just blame my brother for everything (hahaha), but still, I will treat this as an investment. Good quality sound system can never be bad right? I will treat this as a lesson learned as well. Never buy what you want, only what you need?!?! (I'm reading the Shopaholic series so I'm kinda influenced by the words..)

I shall say that overall, I'm a satisfied girl despite spending about $250 today. I will treat this as an investment for the future.

Ahh, the marvellous sound is playing from the speakers as I'm blogging. I must calm down~~ Must scrimp and save before I head to KL.

Oh yes, thanks Tow Wei for driving us to Suntec! (Even though we were lost a few times because you chose to listen to your gps when I'm obviously a smarter choice!)

I slept, and woke up reading Meireles going to Chelski and Bellamy coming back to Pool. Don't know whether to be happy anot. I guess it'd be good for Meireles to (hopefully) get first-team action instead of being our super-sub (like Benayoun used to). Speaking of Benayoun, why didn't he come back to Liverpool as well!

Read this comment on one of the articles about Meireles going to Chelsea, "Well he will have loads of success just like Torres and Yossi." So witty omg. The sarcasm (Y) If you don't get it, it's because Torres & Yossi went to Chelsea and were flops obviously. With Torres scoring only 1 goal in 6 months, and Yossi being a sub/injured all the time. Came home to the scoreline of 6-2 for Man Utd-Arsenal game. Now it's 7-2. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A SCORELINE FROM 2 TOP 4 TEAMS BEFORE. & I thought Man City's 5-1 thrashing of Spurs was bad enough. Poor Arsene :(

Oh wait, it's 8-2 now. OMG MANCHESTER UNITED IS ON FIRE. Can't believe I'm missing/missed the whole game! >:/ I really like Arsene Wenger, and I feel so bad for him. Hopefully the fans will stand behind him, and things will pick up in the future! It's still the beginning of the season. If Liverpool could be a renewed team, so will they! :)

On that note, I'm guessing it's a Manchester fight to the finish (unfortunately).

I realized I didn't blog about Abs' surprise party two weeks ago, but I'm lazy hahahaha.

I must not work on Fridays. It's fucking crazy, and I'm fucking host! I really don't get why students like to eat lunch in bulk (as in 7-10 people). You will only continue talking to like 2-4 people after you graduate from secondary school, so why bother?! (being mean, but it's true)

& don't long queues turn people off? I don't get why people can still line up despite waiting for like 10-15 minutes. It's not worth it! I think the cause of it all is the price. Student meals are too cheap. I must feedback to the heads to increase the prices of student meals.

Pepper Lunch menu is changing again! Like the end of the month, so please eat the unagi/seafood pepper rice while stocks last! I will eat seafood again tomorrow, :)

It's like a month before the usuals & I head to KL, but I'm so friggin' excited already! I'm like thinking in my head what to bring, what to buy, etc. It's crazy. I can't wait to book the air ticket and get it over with.

With that said, I must really stop spending money. I have no more to spend, and my pay's still not here till another 4 days! :/ What I really need now though, is book two of the Mortal Instruments series...

Add: Oh yes, finished watching the first season of Nikita yesterday! Can't wait for the next! :)

My maid suddenly started crying and hugged me when I reached home after work. I felt bad for her because I still smelled like Pepper Lunch. Anyway, I started crying also. It felt really sad. Maids come and go, and I've been seeing don't know how many of my maids leave don't know how many times already. However, every single time they leave, I will fucking cry. They're always part of my family.

Auntie Um especially (the one that is leaving tomorrow morning). I think I was the closest to her among all the other maids. There's one who stayed with my family for 11 years, but I don't really remember her because I was so young then. But okay I am damn sad that she is leaving. It'll never be the same! :( No more scaring her with sudden appearances in the kitchen, or complaining to her about my siblings. SIGH.

My maid is leaving on Wednesday :( So fast :( Has it been two years already? I remember having a very good first impression of her because she greeted me after I came back from work/outing at around 11pm. That was really nice. See how first impressions count!

The new maid is coming in later tonight, or at least according to my mum. Apparently I have to share the bed with her, which is uhhh, I don't really know you well, so...... I think I'll just sleep on the sofa today!

Went to Bugis with the usuals (minus Nad & Nurul). Late again! Sigh, I must really improve on my tardiness. Went there hoping I would get something, but came home empty-handed. HOW CAN?! I purposely wore slippers so that I could try shoes easily!!

Hopefully we're going to KL (?!?!) this September. I'm looking forward to heading out of Singapore! Hahaha.

Time to continue Nikita. When is the new season coming out? All the guys are quite handsome/charming one lorxzxz! Imma go try watching Tiger & Bunny too since the lead character's voice actor is Sanji's :)

Anyway, I really enjoyed myself yesterday with Huiqing & Joe. I met Huiqing at Chinatown first to go shopping. I like this kind of vintage-y thrift stores? Like cool only. Bought 2 tops, and zoom, off we went to Orchard.

Went to Vivo to meet Joe at around 730 to catch the Arsenal-Liverpool match at a bar. There's a first time for everything, and I really liked the atmosphere of people watching together, and celebrating/shouting at the tv. I can definitely see myself doing this weekly since the beer quite cheap (IMO?!). Huiqing & I were so tempted to step in the club since it was just next door, but there was an entrance fee :/ Joe kept wanting to eat, but opted not to in the end.

Ok, this sounds quite boring, but I swear, it was enjoyable! I really, really enjoyed myself :)

Guys, if there's an important soccer match, let's all go to a bar one day to watch together ok. I don't care if you watch soccer or not. Take Huiqing for instance, she also kanchiong when they are going to score hahahaha.

Btw, Liv won Arsenal 2-0! It's been 11 years since we've won at Emirates Stadium. Suarez & Meireles definitely made an impact in the game. Hope Kenny won't sell Meireles in view of his performance, and his 'mo qi' (what's 'mo qi' in English ah?) with Suarez. It's like the Gerrard-Torres partnership. They understand each other!!

Work was alright. I'm so used to...... whatever this is. I think my period is coming because I can't seem to smile at work. Ah Rong & Edwin kept asking me to smile (which was really nice of them IMO), and often ask me if I'm tired. Edwin even helped, which was really nice (sorry my vocab sucks). I felt quite apologetic to them because I kinda showed them attitude in a way. They ARE really nice people even though sometimes...

Here to rant! Actually not much already, because I think I've let it all out?! Idk, or maybe I'm keeping everything deep in my heart, and one day, I'll just explode.

I don't know how many times I wanted to cry today because of all the stress and frustration. Seriously, doing host the entire day/night is no easy matter. It's such a mentally challenging task. I don't know how Jhune does it manz.

It's like fuck, some customers have no manners at all?! Hello SIR/MDM, the most basic thing you could do is say 'Thank you'. We don't owe you a living ok.

& sometimes, I really feel so "unsupported" by the staff. No one really takes initiative there except for a few. It's sad. I really don't like complaining about my colleagues but sigh.

Take Ah Rong/Edwin for example, I think they take me for granted? It's like I'm damn free to work for them everyday when there are not enough people. I was supposed to have 2 hours break today (after such a tiring afternoon at that), but no, because there are not enough staff, Edwin was like, "Break 一个钟头可以吗？" So if I say, "不可以" how? Duh, he was obviously asking a rhetorical question -.- I think the problem is with the schedule planning zz.

Then there's Meiling. WHY, WHY MUST SHE ALWAYS STAND AT CASHIER DOING NOTHING WHEN FLOOR IS SO BUSY?! WHY?! I don't understand. She picks the wrong times to go to the toilet, and always talk to the other staff whenever it's busy. I really don't get it. Plus, when you're at cashier, if you see the customers holding the seat card (or whatever you call it), you could just ask them over to the counter yourself right? Why must you ask me to ask them when I'm so busy finding seats for everybody else?!?!?!

There's NO ONE to rant to there so here I am. I always feel bad whenever I have such negative thoughts of them because they are all nice people, just not good enough (?!) to work with?!

I guess I can be bullied easily because of my easy-going personality?!?! I might not show my anger, hurt, etc. because I respect you all. But do you guys respect me?

My arms/legs are fucking aching. Time to find another job (and that's what I've been saying for the past two years).

I need some me-time. Haven't gotten any for ages!!!!!!

Oh yes, did I mention how much I like touching my arm muscles!?! HAHAHA. I should go tone it.

I'm so tired from work and it's only day two. Damn sian. I mean who works 10-11 when one's supposed to be off?! I don't get why I'm so... nice at times. It's not like I'm desperate to earn money anyway. It's just that I don't want to rot my day at home doing absolutely nothing; hence, it's better to be earning some income instead?!?!

Things are soooooooo awkward between Sam & I that I'm dying. Like I mentioned earlier, it's only day two. How to survive the next two months?!?! I should have thought through my actions and shouldn't only think about myself :/

I just want to spend all my money away because 钱是身外物 you know. It's like what's the use for keeping all the money?!?! Especially since I can easily (wah seh) earn back through working a day or two at Pepper Lunch.

I really need a friend to rant to about Pepper Lunch, sighhhhhhhhh.

I've been watching this yesterday, since I had Shane West withdrawal, and he looks so old in Nikita, but heck! He's still charming. He just has to shave!! Plus omg, Maggie Q is fucking cool?! Like those cool people cool! She's so pretty! Wah, when she winked and did the peace sign, I was like omg, flailing. Hahaha sounds wrong, but she's really (Y)

Anyway, spent about 3.5 hours packing my room, switching shelves since my previous shelf was spoilt, and ta-da! :)

Okay, the picture like quite messy, but it isn't?! Like it's really neat already IMO. Now all I've got to do is get a small table, CD rack and iPod speakers, and my room will be perfect! But before that, I have to pack my clothes again. It's so messy :/

My maid is leaving this Thursday! :( BUT, I am working! I didn't know it was this Thursday, sian. I'd have to say goodbye on Wednesday :(

Handed in both TAR & AMPYC group assignments in the morning! :) I'm so glad everything is over! Really a job well done to everyone especially my precious group mates!!

So after submission of our assignments, Lycia, Sixu & I decided to go K to celebrate. Nad was lazy, and unfortunately for us, the epitome of self-invite came along with us. SIGHH. We went to Clementi Mall to walk walk first b/c I'm dying for some shopping, and then went to Teoheng @ NTU Alumni.

I don't get how some people do not get the hint?! Hello, it was very obvious that we didn't want you to tag along, SO WHY DID YOU?! & WHY DID YOU SELF-INVITE OMGGGGGG. The three of us kept exchanging looks, lol.

Sang for 3 hours! :) It was really fun, like a relief since we didn't have to worry about assignments already! Managed to rap again! :D I must go practice Chinese raps instead now. I shall master the art of rapping freestyle?!

My voice is really thin; I'm aware that it is, but I don't remember it being so thin last time?! Sigh, what happened to all those choir practices! Must like go and practice holding to high notes also lol. WHAT TYPE OF CHOIR MEMBER AM I SIOLXZ. Maybe that's why I switched to rapping hahaha.

Happy 46th birthday Singapore!!

Can people stop complaining about how much taxes are wasted for this NDP Parade? It's a once a year thing to commemorate our independence. So shut up and enjoy the show can?

I still remember a few years back when I was "forced" to sing for choir during National Day celebrations. I was on stage (with several others) singing the usual Singapore songs, and then I suddenly choked up because I saw the school singing along. It just felt so good seeing everyone, being a Singaporean? It just felt amazing. I guess this is how celebs feel whenever they're on stage performing, etc.?!

Hahaha okay, need to edit TAR assignment now! 2 more assignments and it's over!!!!!!!!!

I miss Running Man!

Have been catching up on Running Man the past few days :) It felt like last year when I first started, and could chiong all the episodes I want. Good old days eh? Need to finish up Family Outing, and try to find Infinity Challenge episodes :)

But before that, cut words from TAR assignment! I want to cut, but I'd feel bad cutting words that are deemed important?! Every word is essential, but must be ruthless?!?! Sighhh.

Kim Jong Kook is da best mind-gaming person eva!~ #justsaying He always catches me off-guard with his methods?!?!

I wanted to blog about something reflective, but I forgot what was it about. CRAAAAAAAAP. Oh, I just remembered :)

Incoherent post ahead!

I need to learn to step out. Take the initiative. I think this is God's answer to my aspirations?!? By taking the step out to go back to church, to youth, I would then be able to take the step out for my own future. I was just ("forced to") sharing with Nad the other day in class about my goal in life. I said that I wanted to be a social worker, and help children be happy. I believe that every child deserve to have a happy childhood, and I want to be able to help them when they're sad, or facing some difficulties at home, etc. I don't want them to, because of family issues, be traumatized/influenced by it, and grow up to be horrible people. I want to make a difference in their lives. However, I understand my own weaknesses. I refuse to take the initiative; to visit orphanages, homes, etc. as I don't want to be a "loner". I'm always afraid of being alone. It's like if there's no friends, I wouldn't want to be at the place as well. Which fucking sucks by the way, because friends aren't forever. We all know that. There isn't anyone else in the world who shares the exact likes, dislikes as you. So I can't count on them to follow me in whatever I want to do. So to firstly take the step out in church and rejoin my spiritual family, would I be able to succeed in my future endeavours.

Went to Lycia's church yesterday with Evania :) It was.. an interesting experience. FCBC is so happening siolxz. SO MANY PEOPLE & THEY WERE ALL JUMPING DURING THE SONGS, like wow. I was actually impressed that guys jumped (think back to chapel days, where all the guys like damn stone during chapel). I like to see guys unashamed of praising the Lord :)

Oh yes, I saw Linhong after Lycia's church service yesterday and it was awkward. A fleeting moment, and sigh. I really wonder how we turned out like this. From the past, we were all so close, and now, machiam strangers.

What to do after graduation?

Going to Lycia's church tomorrow :) I like visiting people's churches :)

Anyway, another two assignments down, two more to go. Can't wait to hand in everything on Thursday and I'll be free!!!

Yeah, so I was thinking, in the future, when I get a job, I must really have passion for it. I don't want to dread going to work every single day, and curse about the management/job scope, etc. I don't even want to quit every few years because I simple dislike the working environment. I want to stick to it, and do my very best in it. Being glad to face challenges and being even happier when I succeed in overcoming such obstacles.

Well, I still am unsure what I want to do in the future. There's another 6 months to go before I decide at least. With my grades, I might be able to scrape to a local university depending on the course. However, if I do not make the course I want, what would I do then? The more I think about being an early childhood educator, the more that idea etches in my mind. I really enjoy working with children. I however, do not like it when I have to think out of the box for lesson plans/learning corners. I actually believe that children should be given the opportunity to explore and experience amazing lessons/learning corners, and I know I am unable to provide such things for them. Idk, really.

In the end, I might just go to Wheelock because A) Cheap school fees B) Boston!! C) Degree D) "Easiest" to get in. But I don't want any of these reasons to be factors of why I choose Wheelock. If I were to go Wheelock, I want to WANT to go Wheelock, get me?

Sigh, thinking of future plans suck. Hopefully my grades don't turn out too badly this sem. At least let me maintain my gpa. I can't afford to let it drop >:|

Five Lessons About How To Treat People

1. First Important Lesson - "Know The Cleaning Lady"

During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.

"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.

2. Second Important Lesson - "Pickup In The Rain"

One night, at 11:30 p.m., an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.

A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home.

A special note was attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others."

3. Third Important Lesson - "Remember Those Who Serve"

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked. "50¢," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. "35¢!" she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left.

When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies. You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4. Fourth Important Lesson - "The Obstacles In Our Path"

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand - "Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition."

5. Fifth Important Lesson - "Giving When It Counts"

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year-old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.
